Penelope is in town! (or how to have access to the new issue tracker)

Nicolas Petton
Hi!

Ben and I finally put the Penelope monkey online!
You can access to all issues at http://bugs.pharo.org and register there to get access to Fogbugz.

Cheers,
Nico

I don't know what your plans are, but I hope you will be using the latest

That's cool.

I wonder if there is a web page that gathers all important links to the Pharo community.

This monkey glare is not very pleasing to me  X-< Gives me creeps.

A little google on cute monkey icon gives a lot of nicer stuff.

Other than that, fine!

Could someone explain what Penelope is and why we need it?
We need it now (fogbugz) but we didn't need it before (google code)?
What does it do?
Doesn't fogbugz provide what penelope does?  from the website I just see the items and I can filter by groups...isn't that provided by fogbugz?

thanks,

Re: Penelope is in town! (or how to have access to the new issue tracker)

EstebanLM
google has public access to see the bug entries, fogbugz no. So you would need an account even for check... penelope handles that (and the creation of accounts to report bugs, which would be a pain without it)

that's it.

FogBugz does not provide (yet) a way for non logged on user to see the open entries (why google allowed it)
So we tackled this issue with Penelope.

So basically, Penelope does two things:
- listing open entries sorted by projects
- provide a way to create a fogbugz account

Hope it's more clear now :)

One thing is a bit upsetting, Penelope does not remember about our
recent navigation, I wonder how she will ever remember about Ulysse.

Re: Penelope is in town! (or how to have access to the new issue tracker)

Nicolas Cellier
But more annoying, how can we search or filter, all issues containing
'someString' or browse closed issues ?
When the registering page will work, I think it'll be the essential
added value, don't ask too much to a monkey.
