Hi,
Personally I do not like it. (Maybe I'm difficult :) ). I think that it would be better to have the "illar" at the bottom and not compressed in the middle. The second column look like an "y" and we read "Pillary". And why is there a wave under pillar? I think that things in a logo have to be symbolic and I do not find anything from the wave. Anyway, thank you to invest your time in pillar :) On Friday, 18 March 2016, Thibault ARLOING <[hidden email]> wrote:

We have hesitate between both on top and bottom for the "illar" and we are not realy decided yet so we will Take care of the comments ! For the wave it's because "Pillar" is a pillar for a pier which is above the sea that represents "seaside". I asked Damien Cassou for the story so we decided to add this symbols So the columns represents Pillar which support the pier. Hope i Light you up :) De : Cyril Ferlicot Hi, Personally I do not like it. (Maybe I'm difficult :) ). I share the impressions of Cyril here. The relation between the "P"
and the rest of the "illar" seems too much disproportionate. The
second pillar doesn't help with readability and I know about Pharo
things kind of "sea" related, but I would try to focus more on known
pillars like [1] or [2] as a base for abstractions instead of the
ones behind the piers. Logos are difficult and you're making a
great work with the code, so is nice to that you're taking the
feedback also with the art of Pillar.

Hi, |
A simple test for logos is: make it tiny (~20 pixels high = the favicon of a website) and it should still work (meaning it should be visible, legible, and recognizable). Even better if just a monochrome silhouette still works. Try that with the logos of major brands. On 18 March 2016 at 19:30, Offray Vladimir Luna Cárdenas <[hidden email]> wrote:

I don't like it. It's more an illustration than an actual iso/logotype. Sorry.
I didn't know there was a logo for Pillar, and though it's not fantastic, it is nice and continues with the style of a Pharo thing. Regards! Esteban A. I think more about the ones below the pier :)
