Dear all,
I would like to modify the project name to Polymath https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymath I could not find any big project on Google or github with a similar name. If we choose Polymath, we will use PM as a prefix of all classes and Math-* for packages name. Serge
I will make sure that Versionner with my fix is working and after I propose to start a brand new configuration. Could you create a Polymath (and not polymoth :) project on SmalltalkHub and create a team? Serge
with https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/17806 now I can change something - commit the packages in one click - release - commit the configuration It is so good like that. I started to rename the class of my project PrincipalComponentAnalysis and the builds are green. https://ci.inria.fr/pharo-contribution/job/SciSmalltalk/ Stef Le 12/3/16 13:19, Serge Stinckwich a écrit : > Dear all, > > I would like to modify the project name to Polymath > https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polymath > > I could not find any big project on Google or github with a similar name. > If we choose Polymath, we will use PM as a prefix of all classes and > Math-* for packages name. > > Regards, -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SciSmalltalk" group. Hi,
-- fwiw polymath provokes very much the image of a renaissance man. which for me personally provokes the image of a know-it-all. with Bens old proposal SciTawk otoh i associate people talking in a dialect. i was born as a swabian and when we talked broad swabian _no_ normal german would understand a word, but nevertheless we understood us as being normal people, not a know-it-all. and one should not forget Bens approach to see how much google hits you get, polymath has 357,000 hits. Hi Serge,
-- perhaps the other members don't have strong enough opinions about the name to vent them and i think i made clear that me personally, i never would consider myself to be a polymath, hence i guess you should stay with your Polymath decision, a little overstatement doesn't do no harm, and at least it's faster to type than SciSmalltalk. werner <a href="http://www.doesnotunderstand.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" onmousedown="this.href='http://www.google.com/url?q\75http%3A%2F%2Fwww.doesnotunderstand.org%2F\46sa\75D\46sntz\0751\46usg\75AFQjCNEmratUCplMDry5gDXSals1R-iPLw';return true;" onclick="this.href='http://www.google.com/url?q\75http%3A%2F%2Fwww.doesnotunderstand.org%2F\46sa\75D\46sntz\0751\46usg\75AFQjCNEmratUCplMDry5gDXSals1R-iPLw';return true;"> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SciSmalltalk" group.
