I keep getting stuck with the GUI builder popping up the message
"Properties have changed but have not been applied. Apply the changed
or Cancel them?" with Apply or Cancel as the choices.
Sometimes I also get the debugger coming up on various failed messages
too; this does not seem essential for the problem.
I am unable to close the notification windows that pop up (or perhaps
they close and reopen) and have found no way to get unstuck except to
kill the job and restart. I have tried hitting the apply and cancel
buttons as well as hitting the X system kill button on the window. I
have also terminated the processes when debuggers came up, and somewhat
randomly killing processes and windows in the smalltalk process monitor
tool.
The receipt to produce this seems to be
open an empty canvas and the palette and painter tool
edit a property in the painter tool, but do not hit apply
select an item in the palette and move the mouse over the canvas
Aside from always remembering to hit apply, is there some way around
this problem?
