Re: [gsoc-mentors] Running under 'Smalltalk' org. name

Nicolas Petton
Hi guys,

Stef, I don't like the idea of having a Pharo-specific proposal. I think
last year Amber topics were quite successful and I would really love to
see that happening again :)

Janko, about this issue, I don't see how this prevents anyone from
submitting topics related to other dialects. I know for a fact that it
wasn't an issue for me the previous years, and the students did an
awesome job with Amber topics. The Squeak, Cuis, VW and VA mentors can
for sure do the same, I never felt any pressure to submit Pharo-specific
topics :)

I would like us to avoid taking unnecessary risks of failure, do our
best to be accepted, and try to rock and deliver once more this year!

Thus I would suggest to put this behind us, avoid the bad tone of this
discussion, and keep all this energy to move forward and submit great
proposals, instead of fighting like that :)

Cheers,
Nico

I agree with Nicolas. Amber is not backup by any org until now. Going to Gsoc with many org will not help them.
