Re: new website about Artefact

Bob Nemec
Is there any interest or plan in porting Artefact to other Smalltalk dialects?
I image there would be few dependencies to deal with, like UnitValue.

I've worked with PDF4Smalltalk on VW, but porting it proved be a challenge because of namespace collisions (it has classes Boolean, Integer, Date, etc).

Thanks,
Bob Nemec

We would prefer to improve it :)
and build on top.

why we ported Moose to Pharo and we handled the namespace.

I’ve heard some interest in porting Artefact to Gemstone.

There is one trait that can be replaced by a method further up the
hierarchy.

Having Artefact on GemStone is something I could use, and porting it something I can help with.
I suspect that porting it to VW & VA afterwards would not be too much work, and again something I can help with.

Our app uses R4PReport which sits on top of PDF4Smalltalk. Having it also work with Artefact would not be difficult.

Let me know how I could help (bnemec at gmail dot com),
Bob
