Unfortunately it doesn't ring a bell, but those should be defined in
at least recent
gccs from apple. I don't have a released compiler installed on any of
my machines
handy, but looking at gcc -E -dM should get the preprocessor macros
defined.

Do you have a version of the compiler that was used?

Hi Adam (I suggest you subscribe the list),

__i386__ should be defined in recent GCCs from Apple.  I suggest that
you reply with:

- the output of "gcc -E -dM -x c /dev/null" and "gcc -m64 -E -dM -x c
/dev/null"

- the version of Xcode, if you have it installed.

Paolo

Re: Re: problem compiling libffi on Core 2 Duo

Paolo Bonzini
Thanks for the answer.  It looks like your gcc is a PowerPC compiler,
not an Intel one!

On my PPC Mac, I do have an Intel gcc installed as
i686-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1; you may try

./configure CC=i686-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1
make

or something like that.

Paolo
