Paolo,
thanks! Nice. I found some strange behaviour (not in the class with this name) in Blox - could I report it here? What if I could solve it? Could I post a solution here, or on the bugs list? I'm not a C programmer, however I may be able to make changes in smalltalk code. thanks Robert > RK wrote: >> Dear Mr. Paolo Bonzini, >> >> I'm unable to post to the smalltalk list :( - our stmp server is >> windows based and the ISP (Chello-UPC) uses... What are the main differences? Somewhere I read that there's a Browser like in Squeak, is this true? I couldn't find anything. I compiled gst through gentoo portage. _______________________________________________ help-smalltalk mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-smalltalk |
Hello Felix! I worked and also played with several smalltalk. I could say that gst is NOT like squeak or the others. If anyone saw some similarities, that simply meant - I think - that he saw the blox based class hierarchy browser of gst. Every class browser in ST language implementation looks similar, that's all. But meanwhile squek is a smalltalk with many browsers, gst is script based by philosophy. However the blox browsers are at a really nice shape and still developing. I also use gentoo Linux, but I erased the version from portage: emerge -C gnu-smalltalk and downloaded the 3.0b sources from the gnu-smalltalk site, compiled and installed. Start it after installing with: gst-blox It also supports the -I parameter for opening a saved image. Be preapared - it is in development, but very-very promising - I do just the same like you - experimenting with the GUI browsers. best regards Robert > Paolo Bonzini wrote: >> >> Anyone who's been sending e-mail to the list, can you test replying to >> this message?... >> >> > To not make this a pure test message, I am completely new to gst.
