Re: smallwiki Digest, Vol 60, Issue 10

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the suggestions.

localhost:8008 gives me a Welcome to Seaside webpage with option to browse the Dispatcher list. The Dispatcher list doesn't include pier.
localhost:8008/pier doesn't work. Neither does localhost:8008/seaside/pier.
I tried PRDistribution register. I got an MNU error.

I tried the above on a new One-Click Pharo 1.1.1 with freshly loaded Production Seaside3.0, Magritte2.0 and Pier2.0. Still no joy.

Another thought, when you create a new blog entry make sure you press the
"current" button associated with the "Publication" date field. It might be
that you've created a new blog entry but haven't given it a publication
date.

Hi Alex,

The What's new is simply a component that shows a summary of the entries
from a blog component. Thus, to have something appear in What's new, you
need to add a post in the blog with a valid date.

I would add that you must navigate to the PostTicker component and edit the
source field to tell it which blog to track. It does not automatically
select a blog for you.

I read the thread and I am still not able to add a new entry in the
What's new.
I still have no idea how to add entries :-(

Frankly speaking, this is not a documentation that is needed. I do not
need to read a documentation when I install CMSimple or doku.

Hi!

How can I add a new entry in "What's new". I checked the FAQ but I
found nothing. In a former version of Pier, I did a screencast. But
apparently it is obsolete.
I added a blog entry, but it is not listed in the "What's new" list,

I have a Pharo 1.1.1 image running and my Comanche server is started.
How can I bring up the sample Pier web page (the same page as appears
when Pier One-Click is started)?
Thanks for your help.

I presume you've tried: http://localhost:8080/pier
If that doesn't work try executing: PRDistribution register.
Then try the above url again.

Hi!

Apparently, this font is accessible with:
=monospace text

But, when I press the corresponding icon when editing a page, I get
==Monospace text==

Maybe this has to be fixed.

Cheers,
Alexandre

PRDistribution comes with Pier addons. With the base Pier you can register a dispatcher with:

PRPierFrame registerAsApplication: 'pier' kernel: (PRKernel named: 'kernel').

If you want to download the addons try:

Gofer new
squeaksource: 'MetacelloRepository';
package: 'ConfigurationOfPierAddOns2';
load.

(Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfPierAddOns2) project latestVersion load: 'ALL'.

you can then register a dispatcher with:

PRDistribution register.

Hope this helps

Nick
