Before VW 7.7.1, there was a menu item in the package / bundle version list, “Compare with Parent”. This was really useful for seeing what a particular version had changed. In particular, it looked which package was actually the parent of the selected package. In 7.7.1 it was removed; selecting a package version and the package version below it and choosing “Compare Versions” takes longer and is not always right: the parent is not always the immediately previous version. To find the parent, we have to first open the version graph.
If you’re worried about having too many menu items, “Compare with...” is a good candidate for deletion. It opens a list showing all versions (the same as in the package versions window, but with less information), and with no selection (making it a real pain to use for pretty much any comparison). “Compare Versions” directly in the package versions browser beats it in every case I can think of.
