SMTP functionality

Hey all,

If all I want to do is sent email using SMTP, what is the smallest unit of functionality for that? Do I need to load all of SST? I hope not.

Carl,

your options are (afaik)

* SST
* Eman (I think there is a somewhat current port of it on VASTGoodies)
* Some product from Totally Objects (is it TOBSocketSet?)

We've been using Sst for a while now with good success. There were a few extensions to make in order to support ESmtp, but once we had them, all worked fine. I've heard that Eman works very well, but I never tried it. Totally Objects also gets very good feedback on their products, so I guess it's woth taking a look before you invest a lot of time into Sst.
