SSD = much faster

Hello all,

Just to report an interesting speed improvement on a MacBook Pro.  I
am running a development VM (GLASS on CentOS with VMWare Fusion) and
because the data set has grown a lot recently (gemstone extent = 25GB)
I gave a try to an external SSD through USB3 (Crucial M4 SSD from
NewEgg.com).

A read intensive process that used to take 50 minutes, now takes 10 minutes.

The next step is going to move this SSD in the laptop itself with a
kit from OWC to bypass the USB3 express card.

Now, if they could make a 32GB laptop ;-)

Just a quick note to report an additional 25% speed increase
installing the SSD inside the laptop. It is now mounted as a second
internal drive instead of the optical drive with the kit from OWC.
