STS Site down?

Udo Schneider
Hi,

I just wanted to see whether a XP version of STS is available on David's
(http://www.gorisek.com) site. Unfortunately I recieve an error message
indicating that no route to the dst could be found from
mb3-ser2-1-1.router.amis.net.

Is anybody able to acces the site or is it just a local routing problem?

Udo

I've been checking there periodically (since D5 came out), and I've had a lot
of problems getting to the site, too.  On the few occasions I was able to
connect (last week was the most recent), there was nothing new for D5.

Udo,

Never mind.  I just went to David's site, and, sure enough, there's the Dolphin
XP version!  We devoted STS users can upgrade from the 4.01 version for $39.95
(USD).

WARNING -- the STS 2.2 upgrade is apparently not yet ready. Following the link from
the gorisek.com purchase page takes you to ShareIt where it talks about:
Source Tracking System upgrade to version 2.11 [#138842]
I decided to take a chance, thinking I might be mailed a newer version anyway, and
went ahead and ordered the upgrade. I was sent the 2.11 version. Hopefully I'll be
able to get the 2.2 version from David when it's actually available.

Except that it seems to still send the old version (2.11) via e-mail.  I
guess the e-commerce end has not been fully updated yet.

I'd like to pass on some additional information on the status of David Gorisek's Source
Tracking System.

David did send me the latest version of STS for D5. I haven't had a chance to try it,
but he lists a number of things that aren't working yet. Version 2.2 is not officially
released, mainly because ShareIt is still sending out the old version. The web site got
a little ahead of itself due to a recent change in service providers. That would also
explain the problems some reported recently on reaching his site.

David said that the final release will be announced in the newsgroup.
