[Scribo] Online demo

Nicolas Petton
Hi all,

I think it's time to show what Scribo look like, so I made a demo
(Scribo-Blog and Scribo-Wiki only for now) available here:
http://scribo.bioskop.fr. Please note that Scribo is not ready for a
release yet, neither a beta one.

Feel free to login (username: user/password: user) and try it. This
version still has some known bugs, but any feedback is welcome.

Cheers,

Nicolas

Re: [Scribo] Online demo

Janko Mivšek
Hi Nicolas,

Very nice work and a good design! It should be improved of course but it
is a good start. It is well separated from a content to a CSS, so it
could be easily tailored later.

For a code snippets I would increase a font a bit because in my Linux FF
it is hard to read.

About adding comments: I think a comment for must be visible immediately
below the article. Another possibility is to hide it at the start but
show on the 'leave reply' click. This is important for making citations
- you need to see the article you cite.

Another question is about having both categories and tags, I would have
only one, maybe just tags. Tags are just another name for categories
anyway ...

What do others think? Do you have some good blog examples to look at?
Which functions should be added?

Best regards
JAnko

Yes, you're right, I'll change that.

Not exactly. Look at other blogs, they have categories AND tags. Each
post have some tags, and a blog have categories. For example a blog can
have Linux, Smalltalk, Ruby as categories, and a post have more specific
tags. But anyway you can use tags only if you don't like categories.

There is a lot of blogs on wordpress.com.

I will add an archive view in the future. A tag cloud plugin is already
on its way.

I have trouble with RSS and the demo. If someone want I can update the
demo with RSS  working to show how it looks like.

Janko,

I find tag clougs useful as a dynamic indicator of what's current and hot. I think of categories as more static and structured. I'd keep both.

Nicolas,

I would also put the RSS sign somewhere on the page, because not anyone
is used yet to a RSS sign in browser's location field only, me included.
Also if you use some RSS reader other that browser's, you'll have a
trouble copying the RSS Url link.

Ok, shall we then make this configurable? Let we put in Repository
settings if you want to have categories, tags or both.

Ok, but I would put that in Blog instead of Repository, because it's
only about the blog.

What do you think ?
