Seaside prototyping fun at Startup Weekend in São Paulo

Hey guys,

I have pending to write explaining a little more about the opportunities in the industry here in Brazil but time is a dictator.

Long story short: here there is more money available than qualified enterpreneurs. Sounds like an opportunity? It is. And it's big.

We are going to Startup Weekend São Paulo (november 19) to have fun showing seaside prototyping superpowers (I've wrote more about it here).

Beware, if you are going to attend we might found the seaside's justice league :D

Have fun. I was at StartupWeekend Toronto in Sept. It was eye-opening
and fun - a mini-startup experience in one weekend.

However, if your intent is to showcase Seaside prototyping, that may be
somewhat at odds with the goals of a StartupWeekend. The technology is a
secondary issue. More important is the people on the team and the
startup idea. If you come with an idea, and form the nucleus of a team,
then Seaside could be your advantage. If you join another team, then you
have to go with the interests and skills of that team.

The organizer, who had been to many dozens of events around the world to
facilitate the event, sat with us for one of the dinners. He said that,
despite the different languages and cultures in the various cities, the
event played out pretty much the same way in each location. I hope to go
again the next time it's run here, and I'll try to bring a
Smalltalk/Seaside "posse" :)

Thanks for sharing that Yanni. Glad to hear that.

Actually we count on technology becoming the last interesting issue in those groups (which has sense). Technology isn't a excuse (or deal breaker) anymore. When investors aren't noobs they don't care about the tech you use (it just have to work and scale like crazy).

This is a great time for Pharo/Seaside/Smalltalk

I meet Shane he's amazing. And that's so true. Tech is irrelevant these days so it can't be a better time to expand smalltalk stuff in great business ideas.

I've wrote about that here and here.

Maybe we are going to facilitate one next year in the city where I am :D
