Select the text just typed in

Is there a command for selecting the text just typed in? Historically in ST-80 pressing the Escape key selected the text typed since the last mouse click -- is there something similar for Squeak?

This does not exist in Squeak, but there are a myriad of ways to
select text.  Tracking typed text since the last mouse click might be
problematic, or at least complex, with options like mouseOverForFocus,
etc.

cmd-shift-M might be what you're looking for.
