Recently, I've started seeing messages along the lines of "There are 75
users connected to your computer....shutting down will disconnect them.
Continue?" when I try to shut down computers on our network. This is a
recent and very reproduceable phenonmenon. Anybody else seeing it? Any
ideas on the cause? Perhaps related, perhaps not, I've been seeing a higher
than usual number of problems with sockets getting disconnected abnormally.
Interestingly, I don't see this on my office computer, which is running
IE5.0. Maybe it's a new thing with 5.5??? - that's a hunch at best. I'll
have to check on what's installed on the various computers. It's also
possible that we have a hardware problem on our network, as there have been
some other disturbances recently.
