Small IDE suggestion

Chris Uppal-3
A small suggestion that might appeal.

I've been using the SystemBrowser and PackageBrowser a bit more than usual
recently and I've been struck by how often I open the window and then go
through exactly the same set of about 6 mouse gestures as I navigate all the
way up the package tree away from:
    $/Object Arts/Dolphin/Base
and back down again to my own stuff.

How about an option to set the initial package folder ?  Or am I the only user
who would benefit ?

I agree.

How about *remembering* the the package you most recently
browsed,  saved or changed, and opening the list focused on that ?

This is pretty easy to do. You may want to try and change the code yourself
that way it will do exactly what you want on opening. Isn't that the
beauty of smalltalk and smalltalk environments

That is definitely true. But I would rather spend my time
working on an application than tweaking the environment.

Problem with doing your own tweaks is also that they
might not work with the next version of the IDE.

(I  believe think something like this happened with
Ian Bartholomew's Goodies. The 'package-tree' for
Dolphin 2 was great but I don't think you can load
it into later versions).

Now, it would be great, if there actually was documentation
on *how* to tweak the environment, where to start, what are
the things people most often do.
