Some Issue of MBCS(Multi-Byte Character Set)

ChanHong Kim
FIrst of all, thanks to Andy and Blair of Object Arts, and Congratulate
to Release DX6.
You have finished the Greatest Work for Dolphin Development!
Now i'm using your flagship Professional version, so I'm pleasure to
use very powerful tool.

However, I'm afraid that OA neglect users who live in Multi-byte
Character Set Locale.

These release of Dolphin adopt new Scintilla Editor, so I have worried
about my
Hangeul Character in this editor. As my worring, I have encounted
follwing
oddly situation:

1) When I move my cursor through Hangeul(multi-byte character set), it
is moving
half character, so I must type key twice. This situation is generated
when I select
with block, move cursor, so forth.

2) When I copy the text of the editor, it is incorrectly copy into
Clipboard.
When I paste it, I get garbage-meaningless character. Certainly,
non-MBCS like alphabet is
well operated but MBCS isn't.

3) When I type some Hangeul out of the quote, the character is broken.
When I turn off the "Syntax Coloring" option, it doesn't appare.
Fortunately, when I type Hangeul in quote, that is well operated.

Happyly, Hangeul is well operated in Saving Image, Saving Text File, so
I can develop
my app, but above situation suffer and annoying me.
Please correct these MBCS-relate problem ASAP.

My mother language is not English, please pardon me.

Best Regards.

p.s.: As I lost the chance of Beta Testing of DX6, I can't experiment
that case.
I'll take tha change next time. :)

Thank you.

The editor is intended for editing code, rather than a general text editor,
and we have concentrated on making it work for Smalltalk code, for which the
valid character set is a limited range of the ANSI character set. That said
if there are changes that can be made to make it work better languages that
require multi-byte character sets then we will happily make them as far as
it is possible within the capabilities of the Scintilla control.

Hmmm, a lot of those operations are basic features of  the control.
Therefore I'm not sure whether we can fix them easily, though if it works in
the Scite editor it is probable that we can.

Ditto I think.

The syntax colouring is only designed to work for the ANSI Smalltalk
language (plus our few extensions), which is limited to the english
character set.
