I'm thinking in making something like Prezi in Pharo/Squeak (now I'm
using Pharo to learn because I like more the dev experience, but I'm
only starting with the Pharo By Example Book). Prezi is a program for
zoomable presentations but is not free software and it uses a non open
format for storing data. I have used previously but these two issues
(mainly the last one) have making me desist on future uses.
I think that the Pharo/Squeak is the proper environment for a multimedia
rich and Zoomable interface for presentations and eventually it could be
a killer app for Smalltalk. For the moment I'm making some test with
Sozi to use free software and the SVG open format, but the editing
experience is awful compared with the one of Prezi and is really
difficult to make some things like zooming inside and already zoomed frame.
As a newbie, I think that the first think to play with will be importing
some svg into Pharo/Squeak, and see if is possible to make zoom in and
see how rendering work in this environment. I know that there is a
project called Morphic 3 that is working in zoomable Smalltalk
interfaces, but I don't know how much advanced it is or how difficult is
to implement this.
Any advice on this ideas or pointer on how to help will be really
