Yay!  Notes!.  Like Tobias said.

Digging into the past, the last set of notes (called Minutes back then) as in March 2014.  Thank you for reviving this practice!

I also noted in passing that the previous notes were all done by Craig (thanks again!) and two of the other Chris folks - but not me.

As far as feedback on the notes themselves:

What is MAT?

Also, while researching that bit, I stumbled across this exchange from February:

I like your idea of holding open meetings. There are some times when the
board needs to discuss something privately. For example, there are rare
cases where inappropriate behavior on the mailing lists needs to be
discussed. But most of the time, the board is discussing things of general
interest.
-----------------

Has there been any additional discussion about this?

Thanks,
cbc

Minimal Acceptance Testing - a term we used to use at ParcPlace. It was an all-hands period of a week or so where nothing got done except running tests on possible release artefacts to make sure they could be installed, started, run a fairly long list of tests and generally withstood being bashed on by a variety of people. The bad part was when Adele walked into your office pretty much any computer would faint; what she called 'black thumbs'. Mating season was never our favourite time but it was a pretty effective way of  doing some due diligence on a pending release.

New users' first experience upon launching Squeak should be an
immediate commencement of their journey to discovery and wonderment,
not a tedious and meaningless (to them) message that tasks
them with some chore they couldn't possibly care about at that point.
Many would bail right then and there.  Personally, I think most users
that would use a system like this would know about files and folders
and would simply re-unzip it, but if you feel strongly the system
should hold their hand then lets actually hold it by handling it for
the user *automatically*.   A tweak to the launcher scripts included
in the All-In-One.  Simply change the script to make a copy of the
"master" and then launch the copy.  If  the copy already exists (i.e.,
from last time), launch it instead of copying it over.  Then, we
simply include a "factory-reset" script which deletes the copy.  Done.

+1
Looks like a very useful enhancement of the user experience.

Hmm, maybe we could have another three letter acronym than SOB for the Squeak Oversight Board.  Just SB would be good...

Oh I don't know... I sort of like having "SOB meeting" pop up on my calendar
from time to time. It just sounds more interesting than most of the other
meetings I attend.
