Stable Moose Configuration

Dennis Schenk
Hi,

Im currently using the dev version of Moose. For some parts it is still very unstable. For example when using the Mondrian Easel examples, it always crashes after a short while. Also autocomplete does not seem to work at the moment.
I looked at ConfigurationOfMoose to see if I could use the stable version for some of the development, but there the stable version currently points to version 4.3.4 as far as I can tell.

Would it be possible to create a configuration for the latest stable version of Moose, i guess that would be 4.6.x?

Cheers,
dennis

Strange we do not have that.
Can you be more precise?
Which OS?
Which version of Moose?

I would like to see why Mondrian is crashing.

Hi,

Unfortunately, this is not quite possible at the moment. We are fighting with this configuration since a while, and the goal is to get.

But, the latest development version should be stable. Please report the problems if you encounter bugs because we are known for fixing them quite fast (whenever possible) :).

Cheers,
Doru

Re: Stable Moose Configuration

Dennis Schenk
Hi,

I just tried it with the newest image from: http://ci.moosetechnology.org/job/softwarenaut-latest-dev/ which uses the newest build of moose.

I open the fresh image with cog (r2522 and also tried the newest: r2538), start Mondrian Easel, open (for example) the interaction - sample highlight example. I then move the shapes around. Then I generate another example view, already noticing that things get slower. I move some more shapes around in the new view, maybe generate another view and everything gets slower and slower until the whole system hangs. Feels like a memory leak.

Pharo ground is seriously shaking those days...

popupText: does not use the Pharo popup, it instead uses popupView:
The last version of Mondrian now works.

Thanks. Could you open a ticket related to Pharo popup? This is quite critical and it would be important in other contexts as well.

There seems to be a new problem though: When looking at any example view in mondrian easel, and hovering over an edge an error gets thrown:

"This block accepts 2 arguments, but was called with 3 argument"

In MOAnnouncer popupView:delay:zoomedInBy:
...
ifTrue: [ aBlock value: ann element source model value: ann element target model value: view ]
...

Re: Stable Moose Configuration

abergel
The starting point is easy. Check the last moose build:
http://ci.moosetechnology.org/job/moose-latest-dev/897/artifact/moose_suite-4_7_dev.zip

The test is yellow:
MOViewRendererTest.testPositionsEdgesInSubnodes

It has always been green. Apparently when I get the first object of a collection is not the one I expect.

This is strange. I cannot reproduce it.
We are talking about Version 2.147 of Mondrian aren't we?
Doru, can you generate the build like that we do not have to wait until tomorrow?

I move some more shapes around in the new view, maybe generate another view and everything gets slower and slower until the whole system hangs. Feels like a memory leak.

Re: Stable Moose Configuration

Dennis Schenk
For me it still exists with the newest build of moose. See this screenshot: http://cl.ly/0j2r1x012j0Y2G2A1R1V It happens when hovering over an edge for a second. The other problem, system getting slower when playing around in Mondrian Easel, is gone. Thanks!
