I have never encountered anything exactly like what you describe, however I
have encountered a situation where I accidentally hit a key combination
(SHIFT+something) that changed my single quote characters to curly quotes
that Dolphin does not recognize. Perhaps your problem is something similar
involving keyboard code pages.
