We know that Byte Order Mark is very limited in VisualWorks 7.9.1. With the upcoming release 7.10 there will be a contribution available called ByteOrderMarkSupport [7.10 - 6].

Why does the UnicodeStreamEncoder strip the BOM character on input but
the UTF8StreamEncoder does not?
I would rather it stripped the BOM character.
