With some of the talk about how to deploy an application - I notice on the
Cincom website the following feature:
Support for Build-up rather than strip down. This will entail improvements
in parcel loading, a defined runtime environment, and a defined runtime image
as a build up starting point.
I've always wondered why Smalltalks don't do this - start with a minimum
core - Non development image, load in your applications (any dependencies
on development state or missing applications would immediately come to light)
and then do some final small tidy up (optional step - to get an even smaller
image).
Is this something that might help Dolphin too? A roadmap for Dolphin would
actually be quite good too...
