Swing.mse

Alexandre Bergel
Hi All,

I have a swing.mse that loads in Moose. Anyone is interested in this?
It was easy to produce by the way, but since we talked once about
getting a public repository for case study...

Cheers,
Alexandre

Re: Swing.mse

Hi Alex,

If you put it somewhere I will upload it ot the moose website.

The only thing when creating these mse files is to encode the exact
name of the project and the date of extraction.

Cheers,
Doru

Re: Swing.mse

Orla Greevy

I think it would be good  to have a repository of models!
It would also be interesting for me to know what type of analysis you perform in moose with this.
I realize the analysis is generic but I would be interested in what you were checking for. Maybe I can reuse some of your ideas.

Cheers,
Orla

Re: Swing.mse

I agree. At one point I created a page with ready made models and
create a call for other people to share their models. In 2 years
nobody did so now the page is gone :)

Re: Swing.mse

In reply to this post by Orla Greevy

On a slightly different matter, Stef suggested that we have some kind of portfolio generator in Moose. The idea is that you open a portfolio object and can push into it a model with scripts, queries, and pictures generated during your analysis. The portfolio would act as a tracker/bookkeeper for the analysis task and later, you could ask it to write on disk a latex skeleton or something like that. I'm talking about this because it could be a great way to share analysis ideas.
Now what engine could be used to store and generate data: Magritte? Sophie?

I discussed this topic today with Cyrille.

Since we are discussing about way to report analysis, is there some plan to port and use metanool? As far I understand this tool, its goal is to add arbitrary information in a model, which could be used by reporting tools.

Lukas and me started last year during a train ride to implement a
Metanool by simply providing a mapping between Fame and Magritte. This
part works now. The thing left is to allow to add new properties at
runtime. I am working on that.

For example, if you load Metanool in a Moose image:

Gofer new
        squeaksource: 'Metanool';
        package: 'Metanool';
        load.

you could try:

browser := GLMTabulator new.
browser addStatusbar.
browser column: #entities; column: #editor.
browser transmit to: #entities; andShow: [:a | a list ].
browser transmit to: #editor; from: #entities; andShow: [:a |
        a magritte
                description: [:entity | entity mooseDescription
asBasicMagritteDescription ]].
browser openOn: MooseModel root allModels last allModelClasses.
