System Transcript Window broken

Lee Willis-2
Hi All,

I'm running Dolphin Standard Ed. 4.01.3 under Windows NT 4 service pack 6

My "System Transcript" window is kind of broken:

* The window cannot be dragged, resized, moved, or shrunk-to-icon status
* The scrollbar doesn't work.

The transcript window's content updates (new text is printed), but I can't
scroll it at all.

Any clues or helpful suggestions?

Can't say I've seen that before.

The first thing to try would be the panic (little yellow face) button on the
toolbar which closes and reopens all the existing views.

In case it's a bit more Transcript related you could try evaluating
"Transcript reset" in a workspace but I don't think this will do anything
the above didn't.

Start up your clean image (assuming you have one saved) and see if it
happens in that. If so then it is a OS problem (very unlikely I would have
thought). If the clean image works than you have got a corrupted working
image and the safest way is to export all the packages and changes you have
added to it and reload them into a clean image.

A word of warning - If you have to create a clean image from the "Fresh
install" menu option then make sure you have saved the existing three files
(default.sml, .img and .chg) somewhere safe first. It would be easy to
overwrite them before you have had time to save your changes.

Cool.  'Panic' fixed it.  Thanks Ian!

For future reference, it was probably disabled. This can happen in D4 if you
save down an image with a system dialog box (such as a MessageBox or File
open dialog) open modal to the shell in question (in this caes the
Transcript). Disabled views can be disabled again by sending them the
#enable message, e.g.

Transcript view enable
