Hi there -
We just finished upgrading our images from 3.8 to 4.1 and one issue that keeps coming up is the inability to resize a SystemWindow other than in its corners. I vaguely remember that someone posted a fix for this (i.e., so that one can resize windows on any edge) but I can't find it - any quick pointers? Cheers, - Andreas |

Ah, great! Thanks, now in trunk (w/ preference).

Great!
And are there any plans to renew an old open sourced Croquet image to 4.1? Open Cobalt effort have already done big steps in that direction, but an almost Croquet demos and applications (which was developed on it) does not work, except Cobalt app. Thanks, Nikolay On Thu, Jun 24, 2010 at 3:10 AM, Andreas Raab <[hidden email]> wrote: Hi there - |

With all of the great work by Matthew Fulmer and others to port Cobalt forward, it shouldn't be too hard. Hi there - One thing, I'd love is to be able to resize while pressing the middle button + Alt or whatever (middle button already enable moving a system window).
I just have no clue on how to do that myself. Is it feasible ? I vaguely remember that someone posted a fix for this (i.e., so that one can resize windows on any edge) but I can't find it - any quick pointers? -- Cédrick |

yes... maybe this is not "nice" but I find convenient. Middle click brings halo and enable moving the window. So, I'd like middle click + pressing a button (alt) so as to resize the window instead of moving it.

Hmm. Alt-click is already emulating the halo-click. Shift is used to get halos inside-out. That would leave Ctrl. Well, load updates and see if you like it ... - Bert - |
I think I have a problem updating the image. I have a 4.1 image but when I press update nothing really happen. Current update number is 9957. I tried loading the morphic change you made, but then I get an error.
Do I need to download another image ? Anyway thanks a lot ;)

I of course committed that to trunk, which is 4.2alpha, not 4.1: - Bert - |
Thanks ;) This is working now. I find it really cool. Ideally, I'd like the resize to happen while the upper left corner doesn't move (now this is symetrical) and not having to press simultanously ctrl + mid click (that would be nice to hold midle click then depending on ctrl is pressed, it move or resize the window).
Anyway this is already super cool and now that I spoted the method you changed, I'll try by myself. Do other find this fonctionality interesting ? Cheers, Cédrick

actually, this was your first implementation Morphic-bf.448. I think I prefer this way.

Well I tried it with other objects than system windows and those feel much more natural to grow in all directions. And a centered grow mechanism was missing all along. For the regular resize you always have the yellow handle in the lower right corner. Also, I hope to eventually replace the control-key with a gesture - like "pinching" on a multi-touch screen or trackpad. There, the centered resize feels way more natural. - Bert - |
