If you can turn on a computer, The Seaside Primer can teach you to make web
pages with Smalltalk. The Seaside Primer is a 16-page, 3000-word, 5-photo
booklet with explicit, step-by-step instructions on the following topics:

- Getting and Opening
- The Image On The Desktop
- The Image And The Browser
- The Uploaded Image

That’s odd. I find the PayPal buttons work in a sort of all or nothing way. I’m surprised there’s trouble with one field. I have a Mac and a PC, and it seems to be OK. Hi Conrad,

No, I don’t cover databases in The Seaside Primer. I won’t for a while. The next chapter will be called “Building A Single Page”, so you can imagine it’ll be a while before I get there. But, the first issue of Parasol (below TSP on the same page) has an article on PostgreSQL for Squeak by Yanni Chiu. The second issue of Parasol, which came out last week, has two articles from the two largest professional Smalltalk companies — GemStone and Cincom. The Robertson article is about GLORP with Seaside. The GemStone article is about a free database they are releasing for Seaside.

If you’re feeling that your not in the mood for an up-sell, as you just paid for TSP, then I can redirect you to Dale Henrich’s blog http://gemstonesoup.blogspot.com and James Robertson’s blog http://www.cincomsmalltalk.com/blog/blogView . They wrote the articles in Parasol#2.
