UI Skinning: Tabs on OSX

Steffen Märcker
Hi,

the tabs of the skinned UI on OSX look similar to the button-like tabs in
OSX's preference panels. In many OSX applications (Finder, Safari,
Terminal, etc.) tabs have a very different look. I'd expect an application
to be in line with the latter variant. Will VW's skinned UI support these
more browser-like tabs and/or switching between both looks?

Regards,
Steffen

Both Safari and Finder don’t use standard tabs. Their implementation is private to both Finder and Safari. They may look the same but they’re both different implementations.

Kind Regards
Karsten

No. I imagine they would be an alternative control, not an alternative look for existing tabs. They aren't drop-in replacements because they need an alternative visual context to look right. They also are custom implementations in the individual applications rather than UI Builder controls.
