Software Engineer - IBM Visual Age Smalltalk, Perl - Enter this
low-pressure, laid back development/programming department using IBM Visual
Age Smalltalk, Perl 5, Informix 9, on IBM RS/6000 AIX Unix, to develop
object oriented programs, user interfaces, database backends and reports,
within this customer services organization. Consult with users and
implementation team to clarify program objectives and procedures Convert
project specifications into detailed instructions and logical steps for
development. Evaluation of requests for new or modified application to
determine feasibility cost and time required. Analyze current/new processes
and work flows to seek ways to create greater efficiency, productivity,
quality or to adapt to new requirements. Work independently, set priorities
and handle multiple project simultaneously. Formulate plans outlining steps
required to perform tasks and submit for approval. Develop, implement and
monitor applications for user requests. Provide documentation of program
procedures and development. Able to provide support, troubleshoot and
analyze problems that may arise. Staying abreast current technologies to
maintain knowledge as a mean to meet or improve user requirements. Prefer
candidates on the lower end of the salary range of: $60-80K.
Required Skills: A minimum of 4 years of application development & Smalltalk
mobject oriented programming and RDBMS. Experience with IBM VisualAge
SmallTalk, Perl and a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science preferred.
