Uniform name for packages

SergeStinckwich
Dear all,

at the moment only the tests package prefixed by Math-* are run on the
CI server:
https://ci.inria.fr/pharo-contribution/job/SciSmalltalk/
Can we try to uniform a little bit the name of the package ?

Nicolas is it ok for you to rename your ArbitraryPrecisionFloat
package to something like Math-ArbitraryPrecisionFloat and
Math-ArbitraryPrecisionFloat-Tests ?

Thank you.

Re: Uniform name for packages

Nicolas Cellier
Hello Serge,
I think that I will consider this request positively.
I recorded the projet to google-code but as you know, the service will be disrupted, so while at changing...
I did not have any feedback so far except from Sci-Smalltalk, so a change of name should not bother too many people.

Without you request, I would have chosen github hosting for giving a bit more exposure, but only as a backup for source code, git tools are not yet integrated enough in Squeak/Pharo IDE and are a drag compared to Monticello.
I'd like to not loose the few wiki pages, that I can transform in kind of readme.md.

But now I need to reconsider this. What is your opinion?
Do you prefer:
- that he package be maintained in a separate repository as it is now,
- or that the package be moved to sci-smalltalk repository. (and eventually backed up in a separate github project...)
- or fully integrated in SciSmalltalk (including github)

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,
thank you for your investissement in SciSmalltalk ;-)

If you ask me about my personal preferences, I would like the last
option if possible :-)

I will add you as a contributor to the github repository. What is you
ID on github ?
Later, I will move all the SciSmalltalk repository under a dedicated
organisation on github.

At the moment, all the code is managed on SmalltalkHub, only the
issues and documentation on github.
I would like to move in the future everything on github but this is
still a lit bit premature I guess. We need
to wait until the tools are more integrated in Pharo.

I need you ID on smalltalkhub also.

We can host the document page of ArbitraryPrecisionFloat inside the
SciSmalltalk wiki pages.
Can you move them here: https://github.com/SergeStinckwich/SciSmalltalk/wiki
We need to add more documentation on the Wiki also ;-)

Cheers,

Apparently, you are already a contributor of the SciSmalltalk projet.
