The main content area of the Scribo/Aida is easy to change, as it's a wiki. The columns on either side are harder. The Download section, I believe, requires a code change. Somebody needs to VNC in and make a change somewhere. I had a VNC password, but I don't know what happened to it. And it was spotty at best. Janko posted today, so maybe you could ask him. This may be the time to switch to the a new website. The Altitude one I developed or someone could make one with Seaside. I imagine those are all the options.

Yep, because of PayPal interference those sections are not editable
anymore without small code change.

Someone with root access please:

- kill the 'supervise www.squeak.org' process (4176)
- kill the website's squeakvm process (21280)
- su website
- tightvncserver &

After that the website iamge will be accessible via VNC and I can edit it.

Best regards
Janko

First let me note that Janko's description of how to get VNC access
working below is not quite right, I'll clarify in a separate email later.

For some reason the website won't run under VNC but does so fine
otherwise.  I'm going to reboot the server, it's about due for it
anyway, and then try again at which point I will report back.

Re: [Box-Admins] Re: [squeak-dev] Updating the website (was :Squeak 4.4 download link on squeak.org home page?)

Janko Mivšek
Hi guys,

Download link to the 4.4 all-in-one on the website is now updated.

As Ken already noticed the image is unfortunately broken on the GUI side
(see attached screenshot) and therefore unmaintainable, but it is still
working headless, persistence is working by snapshots every hour,
content can be edited, etc. So, we can continue to run it for quite a
while but a reserve scenario is needed anyway.

I'd propose that at least for short-term we continue with last summer
action to upgrade website to the latest Aida. Then I namely managed to
migrate most of it already, maybe a day or two is yet needed to finish
that part.

This way Chris can have a time to continue work on a new website. At
least on the new design and content if not the complete one. Newest Aida
6.5 namely supports Twitter Bootstrap CSS framework used for the new
design, so we can adopt the new design easily, if needed.

For the end I specially like to thank Ken for the help and exact
instructions how to restart and run the website in the future.

Best regards
Janko
