Thanks for the reply. I am still perplexed by the fact that I can
still run 7.6 just fine in 64-bit kernel, as well as the X11 vm in 7.7
and 7.7.1. So can't you just go back to what you were doing in 7.6?

I currently just run VW on a Parallels Windows 7 VM, since I'm not
likely to boot OS X in 32-bit mode just for VW. But it would be nice
to work directly in OS X without the extra inefficient layer.
