VW and proxy do not mix well

Hello everyone.


Our application is being used by variety of end users in various corporate setups.  Periodically it needs to access the internet.  But often  times it can't because the users are behind some corporate Proxy or another.

 I am using the VW Proxy setup tool

to set the proxy. 

Two things became evident lately.  The Proxy support does not work for about 50% of the cases. For variety of reasons the proxy servers do  refuse to authenticate users or do not like if users are provided and so on. The trouble of course that with the deployed application there is very little could be done in terms of debugging those problems.

If our application uses HTTPS the success ration is even worth.

Forgot to mention we are using VW7.7.1 which is supposed to support HTTPS via proxy among other things.

I am looking for the solutions.  I tested VW with the very simple proxy servers and it seem to work

Can anyone share any insight on the VW working through the proxy successfully?
