[VW7.5] Difficulties with Window icons (XP)

Stew MacLean

Hi,

I have created a figure and an image using ImageEditor and use these to create an Icon for displaying as the Window icon.

However, it’s not displaying correctly. It looks as if it’s adding extra “shading”, which completely disfigures the icon.

I am using cleanFigure as described in the manual, and including some masked color (so that I don’t get an orange background). I save both as CachedImages.

Any help greatly appreciated, as I’ve spent hours on this to no avail.

Thanks,

Stewart

At least earlier, we had to make sure that the masked areas were all black in the colored image, and that black was the first color in the colored image's palette.

There are of course issues with Windows resizing the icon. Generally it does a good job, so that's probably not what you're talking about. You can see Windows' view of the full-sized icon by holding down Alt and pressing Tab while your window is open.

Thanks Steve, your comment about the resizing gave me a clue – I expanded the image to take up the whole 32X32 with better results.

Cheers,

Stewart
