VWNC Licence and Seaside Hosting

Maarten Mostert-2
Hi,

If I host a non-commercial webside using seaside and VWNC am I in accordance with the license ?

Thanks and Rgrds,

@+Maarten,

I believe so. VisualWorks NC can be used in production so long as no
money is being made by any parties.

In other words, if you run a community site that uses Google Ads or
Donations to defray bandwidth costs, VWNC is not allowed?

That would be a question for Cincom. I imagine they'd have to review
this on a case by case basis. Imagine a YouTube type application.
Certainly you're not selling it and users aren't paying to use it, yet
you can't quite call it non-commercial, can you? In all my previous
dealings with them they've proved to be extremely reasonable and
flexible, so don't hesitate to just get in touch with them for details.

Cheers,

-Boris

Just for the record :

Cincom seems to agree with this.

That should be fine.  If it becomes a commercial venture, you'll need a license.
