VisualWorks Projects on Win 7

squeakman
Hello List,

I am running VW 7.7.1 on Windows 7.  It has that nice launcher for
VisualWorks projects.  I think this is only on the Windows environment
but I am not sure about that.

I have been launching the same project for months with no trouble. Now I
am getting a exception "Permission denied" when I attempt to launch the
same old image that I have always been using.

As a workaround, I copied the image file and the vwnt.exe and the dll to
another directory and run it "by hand" from a command prompt. That
works fine.

I conclude that there is something amiss with the "nice VisualWorks
launcher".

Anyone have similar experience and how does one fix this?

Thanks,
Frank

Problem solved, it turned out to be my Firewall that was blocking
connections that vwnt was attempting to initiate.

What thru me for a loop was that some images worked while others failed.
