VisualWorks fonts

lanas
Folks,

The fonts of VisualWorks are quite small on a 16200 x 1200 screen and
I couldn't find a way, in the settings, to enlarge them, perhaps by 2 or
even 4 points.  The overall aspect can be changed and I've chosen Aqua
since at least the small fonts are better to read (menus, browser,
workspace, etc..) on a white background, but they are atill quite small
and actually not that pleasant to work with.

So please tell me, how is it possible to enlarge all the fonts by a
few points ?

Cheers,
Al

Hello,

first try the following:
   1. Open settings and select "Tools" properties.
   2. Here you can set overall "Text size". Try "Large" and "Apply" changes.

If it is not enough, try the following (not so straight) procedure:
   1. Open UIPainter on an empty canvas.
   2. In GUI Painter Tool select "Edit/Named fonts/Define named fonts".
   3. A dialog opens where you can modify and/or add your own named fonts.
   4. Select "default" font and enlarge its size.
   5. Don't forget to click on "Assign to named font" afterwards.
   6. Close the dialog.
   7. Open settings, change overall "Text size" to "Large" and then back
      to "Medium" and "Apply" changes.
   8. This forces refresh of the fonts.

You can experiment with modifying other named fonts as well, but I
am affraid that you won't be able to change menu fonts for example
(but I can be wrong).

One last remark, if you're working on Windows, fonts should be ok. But
if you'er working on Linux (X11 system), the fonts will be rasterized.

Hope this helps,
