What's Happening ???

Randy Manning
Shortly after I posted a link to the source code of my First Dolphin app
here, my firewall started blocking
access attempts from:  159.226.111.1

A quick lookup revealed that 159.226.111.1 is:
**********************

The Computer Network Center Chinese Academy of Sciences (NET-NCFC)
   P.O. Box 2704-10,
Institute of Computing Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences
   Beijing 100080, China
   CN

   Netname: NCFC
   Netblock: 159.226.0.0 - 159.226.255.255

   Coordinator:
      Qian, Haulin  (QH3-ARIN)  [hidden email]
      +86 1 2569960

Domain System inverse mapping provided by:

   NS.CNC.AC.CN   159.226.1.1
   GINGKO.ICT.AC.CN  159.226.40.1

   Record last updated on 25-Jul-1994.
Database last updated on  9-Feb-2002 19:55:58 EDT.

***************************

Anyone else experienced similar activity ???

Thanks
    Randy.

Yes, something similar happened here.  I blocked only the incoming IP.
Thanks for the range, I'll go back and block all of it.  The hell with
them.

A good firewall program, free of charge for personal use,
is available at: http://www.zonelabs.com/

Also, a good "Who Is" server
is available at: http://www.arin.net/whois/

Regards
 Randy

I've picked up this address trying to gain access as well - I would
recommend smoothwall as a rock-solid and cheap firewall solution -
www.smoothwall.org . It is a cut down Linux which runs on any old 386/486
and is pretty straightforward to get up and running and to maintain - mine
has been running for 4 months without any problems or needing any reboots
