Folks,
Following the unfortunate occurrence of two disk crashes last week
(actually three if you count the hard disk in my iPod) and the failure
of two (yes, two) backup systems we are now in the situation where we
have lost all of last week's work. This is particularly galling since
we were just in a position to release beta 2, with STS support, which
should have gone out yesterday.
We've sent the errant disk away for recovery to see if we can get back
any of the stuff that's lost. I also have a support call into NovaStor
(one of the suppliers of our backup software) to see if they can
recover anything from the backup database, which I discovered has been
silently corrupt for months. Hopefully, something will come of these
recovery attempts, otherwise I'm afraid it's going to be another week
or so before beta 2 makes it out.
