dynamic window manager

I've been using dwm.suckless.org for 10 years and I just had to have it in Cuis. So, that's what I've been doing the last two days, and I had to do some minor changes to the core in order to allow this level of customization. In case there's some other tiling maniac like me who wants to give it a try... although it's still a little rough, I'll be improving it as I go by using it everyday :) Not sure it will work out-of-the-box yet, I've done some changes that are not included in the package (like some preferences and monospaced font)

Great to hear you use suckless.

Do you use dwm or another WM?

For the past 2 years I been using i3, I'm very happy with it.

Yeah, I use dwm, I tried several tiling window managers and I ended up with my customized version of dwm. I use it "nested", I have a minimalist host that barely can run dwm and the command-line virtualbox, and then many small virtual machines that run a slightly different version of dwm for different tasks, color-coded, etc... like a form of compartmentalization... haha

I'm not sure this tiling and text-oriented thing is useful for coding Smalltalk... I'll see... I always enjoyed experimenting with alternatives to the classic overlapping-windows and menus and icons paradigm.

Related with this talk, I remember old times helping with LinEx (a Linux made by the Extremadura government in Spain where my friend Diego GD was working using Squeak in education) lot of fun playing with Squeak itself as the Window Manager in charge of such Linux. Very very fun times!

Oh! I knew about LinEx, although I never used it. And didn't know about using Squeak as the Window Manager! That was also for non-Squeak windows, like a Bash terminal?
