--enable-jit

SeanTAllen
i found enable-jit as an option in configure and thought, heck, lets
give that a whirl.

the compile failed. is this a known issue or should i send a full
report on it?

i tried googling for anything on it but either there isn't anything or
i don't google so well.
( i'm entirely open to the latter possibility - i'm no google ninja )

Any plans on resurrecting?

I don't have any time to work on something like that now and I know
nothing about jit beyond a basic level
but, I'd love to learn and dive in eventually/someday, assuming its
not something someone else would be going after...

Not top in the todo list, but it will sooner or later.

Right now when I find some time I want to have a decent Windows port (at
least compiling out of the box) and release 3.1.1.

That would be great :) Did you get a Windows machine? If not, you can send me a
message before releasing 3.1.1 and I'll give it a try to compile on my machine.

Provided there are some decent instructions or I can bug people on here, I can
help with Linux/ppc testing (Debian on a Mac G4)

cheers,
