gst-load problem

dukester
Hey List....

Hope everybody's day is progressing smoothly...

dnormandin@ ~
07:26 am >> gst-load Browser

X-Windows launches on my OS X box.
An xterm window appears with the error message:

"File error: Permission denied"

in the window's Title bar

I didn't realize That I had to set perms anywhere? Thoughts, comments,
please.. TIA!

No, you shouldn't indeed.

What if you have already X-Windows started and you type "gst-load
Browser" in the xterm?

Paolo

That was my next trick this morning ;) Same, same...

I'm trying to figure out what's choking here, X-Windows or GST. I
looked at my console  and system logs, and nothing is showing up. Is
it possible to put gst in debug mode and have it log these choke points?

So do you get another xterm or what? Please be as clear as possible and
assume we are as dumb as you can imagine.

You bet. I got an xterm window, but the window was frozen - couldn't
kill it from the xterm window. I had to exit out of X-Windows to kill
the window.

I could have gone to another terminal and sent a HUP to the PID though.

I sent another message to the list just before receiving this one.

In my last attempt, I was in an Apple terminal. I did a gst-load Blox.
X-Windows launched, but no xterm appeared.
HTH..
