Dear all,
I just tried to move an existing installation of Visualworks from an Ubuntu 10.10 box to a fresh Archlinux box and most (not all, though) of the interface now appears to be in Arabic script. The panes in the class browser, retc., all contain Arabic script. I guess there is some system-wide language variable that Archlinux does not set and Visualworks check? Any help appreciated, Stefano _______________________________________________ vwnc mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/vwnc |
Stefano,
Screenshots would help greatly in understanding what that symptom looks like. -Boris -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of stefano franchi Sent: 27 May 2011 18:54 To: [hidden email] Subject: [vwnc] how/where to set Visualworks's GUI language/script? Stefano,
try installing a package providing x.org-fonts (xorg-fonts-75dpi and/or xorg-fonts-100dpi). Hi Boris,
sorry for the late reply as other priorities took over. I am attaching a screenshot of the VW's main window to illustrate the problem. The script looks like Arabic to me, but I may be wrong. The problems seems to be image-related, since the standard images shipped with VW's distributions show up just fine. This particular image is also fine in a Kubuntu 11.04 environment. Not so in Archlinux (both x86_64, but the VW's VM I am running is 32 bits).
