Job Information: project is Oasis Service development and ACD Service support We are maintaining and existing and constructing a customer call center application to be used by thousands of customer service counselors to handle calls from millions of insurance customers. Calls such as: "I want to add a new car or driver to my policy." "How much is due on my account and when?" We are two years into the project. Our first implementation will be this year. Full scale development continues through the year, into next. Currently there are 50+ programmers, analysts and testers working on the Oasis Service application, most with Smalltalk skills. Approximately half are contractors. Full Medical Dental Benefits. Job Requirements: minimum requirement is IBM VisualAge Smalltalk experience. 3 years total Smalltalk required. Any of the following are helpful (but NOT required): * Smalltalk skills: Envy CM, VA Assist Pro, Widget Kit Controls * Domain skills: prior experience working with a property and casualty insurance company * Process skills: experience with automated testing (esp.: SilverMark's TestMentor, or Kent Beck's S-unit) and/or experience with UML (esp.: RUP) and/or extreme programming * Mainframe skills: DB2, CICS, COBOL * Middleware skills: Tuxedo, MQ Series, NT, DB2/2, C++ At this point in the project we are looking for one individual with team lead and/or Smalltalk mentoring experience are since about half our staff has less than two years Smalltalk experience.
