So I thought I check in again. Everything now setup so that I can take the latest version of the glass appliance and load what I need. If you recall there were some loose ends you were handling. thanks -Charles _______________________________________________ seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
You'll have to refresh my memory ... I don't recall off hand what the issues were

Ahhhh, if the issues were with upgrading GLASS for the appliance, I _have_ addressed those issues ... I recommend that you upgrade to GemTools 1.0-beta.8.5 (stil in development, but has the necessary bugfixes) and GLASS 1.0-beta.8.6 (also in development)...I am getting very close (a week or two) to releasing both of these, but I am at the stage where I'm mainly making tweaks so I don't expect any major changes between now and the release ...

Charles,
To upgrade follow the steps outlined here[1]. BTW, I noticed that you are using Seaside3.0? The GLASS appliance has Seaside2.8 installed... I'm exploring different ways of persisting Seaside. I'll admit a fondness for Gemstone. Is there a clean way of upgrading Seaside to 3.0.6? Gmane posting rules are a pain in the ass ! _______________________________________________ seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
To use 3.0.6 in a GLASS appliance, you follow the instructions described by James Foster here[1] and here[2].
If you are starting from scratch, then I would think you'd be better off doing your own install. There are a number of different installation instructions detailed here[6]. I've had good luck following Ramon Leon's instructions[3] while using a thoughtpolice vm[5]. Once you've got the basic GLASS installed and connected to GemTools, then you can install Seaside3.0.6 following the instructions here[4]. So my first crack is doing the glass appliance. If i like, then I was going to set up GS on a CentOS box. Use Pharo 1.3 with GemTools loaded and Seaside 3.0.6 _______________________________________________ seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
