mantis bug 7547 & underscores in method names

timrowledge
For perhaps the first time ever I’ve just tried to load some code that uses ‘_’ in method names. I had to set the preference before it would actually load.

Then when trying to browse the code I kept getting warnings about a possibly corrupted sources file. After carefully checking that I wasn’t actually doing damage I took a quick look in mantis and noticed report 7547 from 2010 (!). 4 and a half years ago? And still broken? If underscores are so rarely used in message selectors that a rather obnoxious problem hasn’t got fixed in that long then I suggest it might be smarter to revoke this option completely and avoid the whole issue.

Re: mantis bug 7547 & underscores in method names

I'm relying on underscore in structured class names and enable the 'Allow underscore selectors' property for this to work. I haven't met any problems so far.  I'm not using underscore in method names.
