problem loading dll

Steve Whitson
  Hi,

In vw7.6 I'm able to load a pair of dlls we produced.  In 7.7.1 I get
the following error:
     a SystemError(#'invalid version',nil)

Any ideas why this would be?  What changed?

These dlls have been working with 7.4 and 7.1 just fine for years now.

Thanks much,
     -Steve

Are you using Oracle? The December list of new resolutions from Cincom
includes this:

7.7.1 99184 DLLs have problems loading into a VisualWorks image on
Windows after connecting to an Oracle database.

Nope, we don't use Oracle...  still might be worth trying though.

Thanks much,

are the DLLs linked to the OE?

if yes: we had to recompile a DLL when we upgraded to 7.7, due to the
same error.

Re: problem loading dll

Steve Whitson
I just rebuilt them (against some ancient ntbckref.lib from vw2.5) and
they now magically work again (with 7.7.1).  Quite odd...

Thanks much,
     -Steve
