hey out there,
i am just wondering if there are any screencasts available for squeak, seaside or magma. i am more and more using (viewing) and learning things especially about software or ide-usage via screencasts. i think they are much faster to produce, more fun and easier to learn from! maybe some squeak gurus and documentation maintainers could offer some insights on : screencast for newbies and best practices about : - set up a work environment for daily use which extends the basic squeak image with productivity tools loaded via squeakMapPackageLoader or monticello repository (tabbed system browser, gui tweaks, inspector usage, ...) screencast for seaside or/and magma usage : - install the latest development realeases of seaside (magma); use the canvas api versus the old rendering; deployment; css; in general this is just a request or recommendation; i could be an idea to sponsor good screencast or documentation via paypal donation?! best regards from the wm-crazy-soccer-country germany. martin _______________________________________________ Seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
>From: "Martin Schubert" <[hidden email]> > screencast for newbies and best practices about : This would really be fantastic. I was wondering if Squeak's internal windows would be any harder to deal with than native ones (on XP), so I just did a tiny test with a screencast tool and they worked fine. Demonstrating something is sooooo much less work (and sooo much more usable) than documenting it! _______________________________________________ Seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |

hey mike,
thanks for the link. unfortunatelly none of those screencasts comes with audio (no explanation of whats going on) and they are quite short (15-45 seconds!). but it points into the right direction. It's not a screencast, but this video (
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7563205626116889002 ) of a seaside presentation by Marcus Denker is what got me hooked. You can also download his slides code (the slides were a squeak app themselves) http://events.ccc.de/congress/2005/fahrplan/events/599.en.html /Mark On 7/3/06, Martin Schubert <[hidden email]> wrote: > hey out there, > i am just wondering if there are any screencasts available for > squeak, seaside or magma. i am more and more using (viewing) and > learning things especially about software or ide-usage via > screencasts. i think they are much faster to produce, more fun and > easier to learn from! maybe some squeak gurus and documentation > maintainers could offer some insights on : > > screencast for newbies and best practices about : > - set up a work environment for daily use which extends the basic > squeak image with productivity tools loaded via > squeakMapPackageLoader or monticello repository (tabbed system > browser, gui tweaks, inspector usage, ...) > > screencast for seaside or/and magma usage : > - install the latest development realeases of seaside (magma); use > the canvas api versus the old rendering; deployment; css; > > in general this is just a request or recommendation; i could be an > idea to sponsor good screencast or documentation via paypal donation?! > > best regards from the wm-crazy-soccer-country germany. > martin > > > > _______________________________________________ > Seaside mailing list > [hidden email] > http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside > -- Mark Aufflick e: [hidden email] w: mark.aufflick.com p: +61 438 700 647 f: +61 2 9436 4737 _______________________________________________ Seaside mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/seaside |
